Opera North Big Night Out - 23/12/05
Opera North, England’s national opera company of the north, is organising the Opera North Big Night Out to the Bradford Alhambra on March 15th 2006, to see Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.

Varsity Success - 12/10/05
Students from Leeds Met and the University of Leeds displayed their talents to the full and showed great team spirit in the first ever Varsity Day. Hundreds of people watched 14 different games at Headingley Campus followed by a crowd of over 3,000 at Headingley Carnegie Stadium for the rugby union game in the evening.

As part of Leeds Met's continuing transformation of our Civic Quarter, the School of the Built Environment is the first school to relocate from Brunswick into brand new and refurbished grade two listed facilities in Queen Square.

Messiah

All-comers joined students, staff and friends of the university accompanied Leeds Met’s newest partner, Black Dyke Band, in a charity performance of Handel’s Messiah on Sunday 4 December.

Everest West Ridge 2006

Leeds Metropolitan University has officially launched its partnership with the Army’s Everest West Ridge 2006 expedition, aiding a team of British Army soldiers with fitness, nutrition and psychological support in their quest to become the first Britons to climb the West Ridge of Mount Everest.

Carnegie Premier League

Leeds Met is delighted to be involved in a pioneering partnership with the Irish Football Association. This builds on the success of the university’s sporting partnerships with Leeds Rugby, Bradford City Football Club and the Netball Superleague. 25/10/05

The School of Languages’ first ‘Language and Culture Fiesta’ aimed to celebrate linguistic diversity, while simultaneously providing the chance for participants to share their cross-cultural experience. 26/09/05
